Oklahoma City Hospital Bill Help 2026–27: OU Health, INTEGRIS and SSM Health St. Anthony Financial Assistance
If you got a hospital bill in Oklahoma City, it most likely came from OU Health, INTEGRIS Health or SSM Health St. Anthony. All three are required to offer financial assistance (charity care), and all three give a 100% discount to qualifying patients with household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL). What happens above that line, what papers you need, and how to apply all differ.
This guide walks through each system in plain language.
Last checked October 2026. OU Health details come from its Financial Assistance Policy (BIL.027) and attached application. INTEGRIS details come from its Financial Assistance for Patients page. SSM Health details come from its system Financial Assistance Policy, which covers SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Everyone who qualifies at any of the three will not be charged more than the amount generally billed to insured patients for emergency or medically necessary care.
OU Health
Who qualifies
OU Health's policy says patients with income from all sources up to 200% of current Federal Poverty Guidelines qualify for a 100% discount of their hospital services.
If you earn more, OU Health offers catastrophic assistance when your medical or hospital bills, after all insurance and other payments, are more than 25% of your total annual household income and you can't pay the rest.
Insured patients can qualify too. Balances from a deductible, coinsurance or exhausted benefits may be covered if you meet the rules, but you must cooperate with insurance claims first. You must also cooperate with applying for any federal or state program you may qualify for, such as SoonerCare (Oklahoma Medicaid).
Deadline
OU Health's application period ends on the 240th day after it mails your first post-discharge bill. If you send a complete application during that window, OU Health says it will suspend extraordinary collection actions while it reviews. If your application is incomplete, collections are paused for up to 30 days while OU Health tells you what's missing.
What to send
OU Health's application asks for your latest federal tax return. If you did not file, attach any two of the following:
State income tax return
Employer pay stubs
Written documentation from income sources
Bank statements for the past three months
W-2s or 1099s
If you can't provide documents, attach a written statement explaining why. OU Health may also screen you through a third-party vendor or use an "Ability to Pay Score" when you can't complete the paperwork.
How to apply
Ask for the financial assistance packet at any OU Health location, or call Customer Service at 1-888-472-0040.
Complete and sign the application.
Mail it with your documents to: Patient Account Services, Attn: Research and Correspondence Dept, PO Box 269070, Oklahoma City, OK 73126.
For in-person help, see a financial counselor at OU Medical Center, 711 SL Young Blvd, Suite 100, Oklahoma City, or OUMC Edmond, 1 S Bryant, Edmond.
The application asks you to allow 30 business days for review. You'll get a letter with the decision. Approval lasts 12 months, and each family member must be approved separately. The application also warns that separate bills, such as radiology, non-employed physicians or ambulance, may not be included.
INTEGRIS Health
Who qualifies
INTEGRIS says patients with family incomes at or below 200% of FPL are eligible for a 100% charity care write-off of the portion of charges they're responsible for. Patients from 201% to 400% are eligible for discounted rates on a sliding scale. INTEGRIS adds that in certain cases, discounts of 80% to 95% may apply when income is above the 200% line.
Assistance covers services that are medically necessary and generally available and provided by INTEGRIS Health. You may be asked to show that insurance or a government program won't pay for the care.

You can apply before or after you receive care.

SSM Health St. Anthony
SSM Health's Financial Assistance Policy covers SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital and Bone & Joint Hospital at St. Anthony in Oklahoma City, plus St. Anthony Shawnee.
The sliding scale
| Income (% of FPL) | Discount | |---|---| | 0%–200% | 100% | | 201%–250% | 80% | | 251%–300% | 60% | | 301%–350% | 50% of the amount over $2,000 | | 351%–400% | 20% of the amount over $2,000 | | Over 400% | 0% |
The discount applies to what you owe after insurance (or after the uninsured discount if you have no insurance). SSM also has a medical indigence program for people whose medical bills would threaten their household's finances, even if their income is higher.
Assets count
SSM adds available assets over $5,000 to your income when deciding eligibility. Protected assets that don't count include half the equity in your home (up to $50,000), retirement accounts such as IRAs and 401(k)s, business vehicles and tools, household belongings, prepaid funeral plans and college savings plans.
What to send
A signed application (it can also be completed by phone or in person with an SSM representative)
Proof of gross income, such as pay stubs, unemployment, Social Security or disability award letters, child support or pension records, including your spouse's income if married
Your most recent federal tax return with all schedules, W-2s and 1099s, or an IRS non-filing letter
The last three months of bank statements for all accounts
A Medicaid approval or denial letter, if SSM pre-screened you as possibly eligible
One application covers all open accounts for you and the family members listed on it.
How to apply
Submit at the hospital, or mail to SSM Health, Attention: Financial Assistance, PO Box 411997, St. Louis, MO 63141. You can also fax (314) 989-6734 or email financialaid@ssmhealth.com. Questions go to Customer Service at 888-918-3512 (Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–7 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) or through MyChart. Applications are accepted until the 240th day of the application period. SSM may also grant presumptive assistance without documents in some cases.
Tips Before You Pay
Apply before paying. Applying within the 240-day window can pause collections at OU Health.
Cooperate with SoonerCare screening. All three systems may require it.
Watch for separate bills from doctors, radiology or ambulance providers that aren't covered.
Keep copies of everything, with dates and names.
Closing Thoughts
All three Oklahoma City systems offer free hospital care up to 200% of poverty. INTEGRIS and SSM Health St. Anthony add sliding discounts up to 400%, while OU Health offers catastrophic help when bills top 25% of income. Call the numbers above, ask for the application and send it before you pay.
