Financial Help in Los Angeles: Every FSR Guide in One Place (2026–27)
In Los Angeles, the two numbers worth saving are 2-1-1 and 1-888-694-0040. 211 LA answers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with support in multiple languages and TTY access, and it is the county's referral line for shelter, food, utility and other help. The second number is the hotline for Stay Housed L.A., a tenant-rights site that runs workshops on how evictions work, has a Right to Counsel section, and takes applications for free legal help if you have received an eviction notice.
Start with Stay Housed L.A. if a notice is taped to your door; start with 211 LA for almost everything else. The guides below go deeper on eviction court steps, deposit and rent increase rules, LADWP bills, county hospital bills, free tax preparation, the Metro LIFE program, CalFresh delays and wildfire displacement help.
