Financial Help in Dallas–Fort Worth: Every FSR Guide in One Place (2026–27)
For Dallas renters, the free legal aid provider to know is Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, which offers free civil legal services to low-income individuals and families in the 114 counties it serves across North and West Texas, including help with housing problems. At City Hall, the Office of Housing and Community Empowerment oversees the City of Dallas's social, human and supportive services for seniors, children and other residents.
If you have a notice, start with the North Texas evictions guide, which lists free legal help by county, and contact legal aid the same week. The guides below also cover TXU winter bills, Parkland hospital bills, free tax preparation at Community Tax Centers, Dallas County senior property tax relief, DART reduced fares and holiday help.
